The little things in branding can go a long way. When brands take the time and money to include extra additions to a product or make a promo video relating to a random interest of yours shows a lot of effort in my book. Sometimes you appreciate and become bigger fans of the brand. Even if you don't like the brand, these little things can convince you to think otherwise.
Benny Gold has recently added a classic sticker vending machine at his SF flagship store. When I was a kid, I remember inserting the coins in the slots and love the suspense of opening the cardboard slips to see if I got the sticker I wanted. Mr. Gold brings back childhood moments with this small addition to his shop and the content is something I actually desire. The suspense is even greater with hidden golden discount tickets. I'm eager to take a stroll pass his shop this weekend to show my support. The little things can go a long way.
The 9five Eyewear Nerf basketball promo video was a great advertisement tool. I remember plenty of intense and extreme H-O-R-S-E games at my cousin's warehouse when we finished the shipments early that day. Simply through this video, I felt like I had a lot in common with the 9five crew by their energy and laughter. I rarely wear sunglasses, but I would spend the extra dollar to support. The little things can go a long way.
