Sorry for the lack of posts. Here's 5 in 1 to make up for it:
I finally bought one of these monsters, which is probably one reason why I haven't been posting lately. After playing 2k11 at my friends house, I needed to get one. The game lives up to "the best basketball game ever made". It's definitely a whole new gaming experience than my old gamecube and ps2. Play me in 2k11, gamer tag: effulgencesf. I'm not all that great, so go easy on me. And if anyone wants Playstation Move, I'm selling the package for $50. E-mail if you're interested.
This years dunk contest was 100x better than last years. The degree of difficulty on each dunk was incredible. Props to Serge, JaVale, Blake & DeMar for giving us pure, raw, classic entertainment. But it should've been DeMar & JaVale in the finals, yet Blake outplayed JaVale in round 2. No disrespect to Blake, but he's getting a bit overrated through his slams. Yes, his in-game slams are like no other, but DeMar & JaVale had much better 1st round dunks. Only 44 for DeMar's East Bay Funk Remix?! Serge got robbed of a 50 on his free throw dunk too, only a 45?! And yes Blake's over the car dunk was cool, but not that cool. He jumped over the hood unlike this man:
I haven't been listening to much music recently either, probably due to 2k11 again. OFWKTA has been taking over the underground hip-hop scene and I happen to be a fan. I first discovered the hip-hop collective through The Hundreds blog. Their ruthless, clever lyrics shows the group doesn't give a f!c$ about what people think in 2011. Tyler the Creator's new single was straight yonkers (pun intended)! Peep Madbury Club's spread on the group here. Check out Talib's Gutter Rainbows, Coolroy Charlie's Charlie, Frank Ocean's Nostalgia, ULTRA & J. Period's Wake Up! Radio as well.
I'm going to start a new series of posts called Remember This. It's going to feature random nick nacks I have consumed over my 17 years on this planet. Remember This #1: Kid Robot Zoomies T-Shirt. This was 1 of my 2 first "streetwear" shirts ever purchased back in eighth grade. I was so amazed going down Fillmore and Haight street, which one of my inspirations in starting effulgence. The culture and art took me to a different mindset when I was in middle school. That same day I was out of my mind and bought those exclusive numbered $180 KR hoodies. I eventually returned it though.
Peek-a-boo! 3, possibly 4 new tees dropping in March! effubuttons too?
